For our December Salon we’re paying a visit to our old home, overlooking the Festive Princes Street Gardens, for a Festive Bring & Buy!
To keep things simple and sparkly at this busy time of year we’re holding an in-person Salon at our former hangout, the fabulous Wash Bar on The Mound. Mike has very kindly offered to open especially for us, and we’ll be upstairs, looking out on the glorious Scott Monument (slightly dwarfed by the garish fairground rides!)
This will be a predominantly social event, but we invite anyone who wishes to bring things to sell to apply for a ‘space’ so we can create a tiny Festive Market of our own. We’re thinking pamphlets, zines, cards and illustrations, or anything arty/crafty. There will be limited spaces so please book a ‘table space’ ticket through Eventbrite.
To retain our pledge for inclusivity we won’t charge vendors, but we invite you to offer a reasonable donation to Edinburgh Literary Salon on the night.
Naturally this sort of event doesn’t lend itself to livestreaming, and while the lower section of the pub is reasonably accessible, toilets are only in the upstairs section.
We look forward to seeing you for mulled wine, mince pies, and lovely things to buy!

It is free to register for all of our events. We invite donations for the glass of wine, or encourage people to buy us a coffee to help fund our work. If you can’t afford to donate, you are still welcome. Our two anthologies are on sale here and our books will be available to purchase on the night. We look forward to seeing you.

Edinburgh Literary Salon is open to all those with an interest in all aspects of Literature, whether professional or personal, and to all parts of the industry: writers, publishers, booksellers etc. All are welcome, and events have free registration. While we aim to hold some events at accessible venues, our Festive Salon is up a short flight of stairs. We invite positive feedback on how we can improve, even within our limitations as a non-funded organisation. We welcome open conversation.
