Tuesday the 26th of April, 2022, 6pm, Live and on Zoom Being in the Easter Season, we traditionally have an egg-theme at our April Salon, so we’re putting several eggs in our basket.
This month, we are inviting people from any Writing Groups that we know about, or who have contacted us, to come along and share thoughts and ideas. We won’t be having official Guest Speakers, but we will encourage people to mingle as usual.
We might run a ‘speed-dating’ of groups and combine this with a Literary Easter Egg Hunt. Whatever happens, the main purpose of any Salon is to meet and socialise, so this Event will focus on Writing Groups – themselves, an exchange of ideas.
This will be, as always, a hybrid Salon so those who cannot attend in person may still join in on Zoom. Those who participate in online writing groups can contribute through the ‘chat’ also – although virtual Easter Eggs may be a challenge.
Once again, the Outhouse are hosting us, and we will be in the upstairs Function Room. There will be a wine reception, and we will open the zoom at 6.45, to start the formal session at 7pm. Online attendees are welcome to hang around in the zoom afterwards for more informal chatter, which we can monitor.
We’ll share what information we glean in the Notes of Interest, sent to our mailing list during the following week. How it works... 6pm: Wine Reception at the Outhouse
6.45: Open the Zoom Meeting
7pm Literary Easter Hunt and Writing Group Chat
7.45 Live Mingling, and Zoom Chat*
Tickets are available from Eventbrite – please state which ticket type you require as in-person numbers are limited. We will send a zoom invitation to all attendees anyway.
All Salon Events are free. We invite a small donation (£3) for the glass of wine, or encourage people to buy us a coffee to help fund our work. Of course, if you've not bought it yet, you can still purchase our amazing first anthology, Lost, Looking and Found at our online shop. We look forward to seeing you in person or in the zoom-room!
*We acknowledge that some people prefer to attend the Zoom without video, so we invite people to use the ‘comments’ section to give input, paste relevant links, and ask questions. We encourage attendees to say ‘bye’ if they so wish when departing! We will save any links from the comments to share to our mailing-list and social media, and we will not be recording the zoom.
