October Notes of Interest

This is a little note on the back of yesterday’s brilliant Salon From Your Home. I’d like to thank in particular our two wonderful guests, Kirstin Innes and Rosie Walker, who were fantastic and gave some great insights and advice.

Viccy Adams from the Literature Team at Creative Scotland has asked us to please ask Salon members to shout from the rooftops as much as possible – that the guidance is published today for the Hardship funds for Creative Freelancers and the fund opens to applications on Monday 26 October. We’re working in partnerships with a variety of organisations to get the funds out to people, including The Society of Authors. Remember also that for our November Salon From Your Home we have a brilliant event scheduled as part of Book Week Scotland, on the 17th November at 6pm, featuring phenomenal storyteller, and Literary Salon member, Fiona Herbert. You can find tickets here https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/literary-salon-book-week-scotland-edition-tickets-126155940815, so please register and come along for what will be a great evening.

It was fantastic to see such a good crowd last night, and wonderful to see and hear from some new faces. It was a fascinating discussion with Rosie and Kirstin, with some great questions, and some even better answers; and we hope you can all make it along again for the Book Week Scotland Salon From Your Home.
