A festive Open Mic featuring voices from the Scottish Highlands and Central Belt
Tuesday 15th December 2020 at 6.30pm on Zoom
We are delighted to be collaborating with our friends in the north, the Highland LIT, to present a unique ‘Open Mic’ evening of fiction, prose, and poetry, co-hosted on Zoom. There will be twelve slots available; six will be assigned to associated writers from each area.
Our last ‘virtual’ Salon had guests from several countries, which shows that although this has been a challenging year, we have been able to make many serendipitous connections. Anyone on our mailing list is welcome to participate.
Our theme “Bridging the Gap” symbolises the aim of this event – to connect voices from different parts of Scotland (or Planet Earth) who are isolated by distance, or COVID-19 restrictions – bringing writers together, wherever they are. The writing can interpret this theme literarily, figuratively, or interpersonally.
Although there’s room for serious pieces, the mood of the event will be light-hearted. Feel free to wear festive apparel; and bring a drink or two to the Zoom. The official event will last for 90 minutes, but those who wish can continue chatting and bridging the gap…
Please email us to request a slot – five minutes each. We cannot take direct requests from our other social media platforms, and will offer slots on a first-come, first-served basis. We’ll then send the Eventbrite link. Sign up for the event, or we’ll have to re-allocate the slot to the next person on the list. If you snooze, you looze!
We look forward to seeing you, as participant or congregant, in this month’s Joint Literary Salon from Your Home.
